Vikram Singh Chauhan Case : The Delhi High Court has reserved its judgment on a petition filed by Arnab Goswami and the directors of Times Now ( Senior Advocate Pavan Narang ), seeking the quashing of a criminal defamation complaint linked to the 2016 Patiala House Court incident.

This case pertains to a complaint filed by advocate Vikram Singh Chauhan, who was referred to as a “goonda” by Arnab Goswami on his show in connection with the alleged assault on Kanhaiya Kumar.

The incident dates back to 2016, when Kanhaiya Kumar was attacked during a court appearance at Patiala House Court in a sedition case, an event that subsequently sparked controversy over media coverage.

The court raised questions about whether the terms “goonda” and “hooligan” used by Arnab Goswami on his show fall within the ambit of defamation and whether the directors can be held accountable.

Advocates Sahil Chopra, Mukesh K. Yadav, and Yash Tewari, representing Vikram Singh Chauhan, argued that Times Now broadcasted videos without verification, thereby damaging his reputation.

The court also inquired whether the channel’s management could be held responsible for editorial content or if it is solely the personal responsibility of Arnab Goswami.
